Can you believe that it’s the 200th episode of the Small & Supercharged Podcast?! Since it launched, it’s won an award, had close on 200k downloads, hosted a number of incredible guests telling amazing stories, and shared some tips, tricks and knowledge connected to promoting brands and businesses better, and I’ve loved every moment.

What have I learnt from 200 Small & Supercharged podcast episodes?

In this episode of the Small & Supercharged Podcast, I share some of the key things I’ve learnt some 200 episodes in. Some are good lessons, some are not so good lessons, but I can assure you that everything you hear is completely honest!

Podcasts are brilliant- I love the Small & Supercharged Podcast and the opportunities that it has provided for me and my guests, but they’re not easy to do. Well, easy is the wrong word. The process isn’t ‘hard’, but it’s a lot more difficult that just sitting down, chatting to your phone, and carrying on with your life.

From organising interviews (and sometimes being stood up!) to quiet environments to record. Edits that aren’t quite what you’d expected to quiet guests, recording a podcast can be challenging. Add on the extra pressure of recording a podcast a week, even when things get busy and you barely have time to think, and you can start to get a clearer idea of the work that goes into producing a weekly podcast.

But despite all the trials and tribulations. the Small & Supercharged Podcast has provided me with more than I could have imagined, and it’s allowed me to connect with so many fabulous people too.

Thank you to every one of you who listens, shares, messages, comments and supports the podcast week in week out. Your support means the world and I’m more grateful than you’d ever know.

Here’s to the next 200 🍾

Femme Country and fashion weeks with Bronte Clare Mitchell

Bronte Clare Mitchell started Femme Country Magazine at a time when print magazines were seeing significant drops in circulation. But with a very clear focus to provide something a bit different, Bronte created Femme Magazine and the surrounding community, which continues to grow and thrive.

In this episode of the podcast, Bronte chats about starting a female focused rural magazine and her desire to share stories from readers and business founders alike, through to brand collaborations and York Fashion Week- helping to show how country clothing can work incredibly well in less rural settings.

You’ll hear lots of mentions of brands you know and love too! Enjoy!

are press releases dead

Are press releases dead? It’s a question I get asked a fair amount, and while the short answer is no, the longer answer is more a ‘no… as long as…’. And the long answer is what you’ll get on this episode of the Small & Supercharged Podcast!

Are press releases dead?

The world has changed from the days of being able to write a press release, send it out, and then feel happy that you’d done big things in helping get your amazing new product out there. Now, you have the option to do a whole lot more with that press release… and that means it can be used for so much more than was originally intended.

The thing is, the way press releases used to work still has value, but with a few extra steps, press releases can be incredibly valuable to you if you repurpose well!

On this episode of the podcast, I explore why the humble press release is very much- in my opinion- alive and kicking, and how to make it (and the process of building your press list, etc) work really well for you.
