What is Spoga Horse Creator Days?

Have you heard of Spoga Horse Creator Days? Well, if you haven’t, this podcast is for you, as I share all about this fabulous event, created for equestrian creators, held in Cologne. The event works in harmony with the Spoga Horse trade event, meaning that people who attend can also have the opportunity to learn about the brands they love, meet up with people from the company, and learn all about what’s to come. It’s a content creation gold mine.

A few weeks ago I announced I’m one of the keynote speakers for the event, so what better excuse to catch up with its founder, Sehrwieviel aka Kristina Sehr, to get the inside scoop for this week’s podcast!

In addition to this being a physical event, there’s some very exciting news in the podcast about how you can also get involved from home… how good is that?!

awareness days for social media

With this week being home to Blue Monday, it seemed like a good excuse to have a chat about the potential issues that come from using awareness days for your social media, as part if your content plan… and that’s what this podcast is all about.

Should you use awareness days for your social media and marketing?

Let’s dive into what an awareness day is, shall we? Awareness days are specific dates that are dedicated to raising awareness about a specific issue. This could be something health related, connected to the enviroment, or even around food, such as Chocolate Day! Some ‘days’ last a lot longer with weeks and even months being dedicated to causes and awareness raising. Some of these awareness campaigns are UK only, some are international, and some might even be local (there’s a Yorkshire Day that fits this brief!). There are a LOT of days, and this can help you and your business to promote something you are truly passionate about, but it can also look false or irrelevant if not handled well.

Of course, the right awareness days can add a lot to your messaging, your brand, and your customers, but when brands latch on to any day they think they can ‘make’ work for them, it rarely ends well.

Ask yourself…

  • Is this awareness day relevant to me?
  • Is this awareness day relevant to my business?
  • Is this awareness day relevant to my customers?
  • Am I really aligned with this day, or am I a) struggling for content b) want to get extra reach from being involved c) am I doing it just because I think I should but don’t really have anything to add?

The answers to these questions will lead you in the right direction!

Hopefully this episode will provide some food for thought, and a bit more background about Blue Monday that might encourage a little more research before other days are adopted into your plan.

And pssst- Blue Monday was created by Cliff Arnall, a psychologist based in the UK due to a variety of factors that he thought made the third Monday in January the saddest day of the year. It turns out that this is a subject for debate amongst scientists, so don’t get too attached to having to be miserable that day!

8 ways to achieve your dreams8 ways to achieve your dreams in 2023

Big title, hey? Well, it’s 2023 and on the very first episode of the New Year I’m sharing eight tips to help you achieve your dreams in 2023. And spoiler alert, it doesn’t involve New Year’s resolutions, because I don’t believe in them and rarely see them succeed without a proper plan.

From sacking off resolutions to finding a supportive community, I’m hoping this podcast will be a helping hand for the start of 2023.

Why I’m against New Year Resolutions…

In short, I think they set you up for a fall! Usually, New Year Resolutions aren’t set properly (as in, through proper goal setting), and there’s no plan, which leads me to my first point…

8 ways to achieve your dreams this year

1- Set goals, not resolutions (there’s different, honestly)

2- Make a plan around how you’re going to get to this dream and break it into small steps (break them down, that’s a plan, a big goal is just a wish!)

3- Find a community to support your endeavours (yep- shameless plug for Small & Supercharged Mastermind right here!)

4- Don’t worry if you don’t know how to do everything along your journey, that’s OK! (no one does, but there are loads of opportunities to learn out there)

5- Celebrate your micro-wins (big goals take time, and celebrating the little wins along the way will help keep your motivation up)

6- Push that comfort zone (comfort zones are cosy but not places for growth. The stretch zone is the dream)

7- If something goes wrong, don’t throw in the towel (there’s no point, things will go wrong, just look for the learning, pick yourself up, and crack on)

8-It’s OK to change course (if your learning and the steps you’ve taken change your goal, embrace it- you’ve learnt and grown along that journey and it’s good to adapt)

Hopefully you’re feeling rested and excited after Christmas and the New Year, and this episode might just help you along your way to achieving your big goals and ambitions in 2023…
